The New Skill: Archaeology from Dingbest's blog

So, have you ever heard about the Archaeology ability? However, the pleasure is that there is so much more to discuss.

That is because Archaeology is so much more than an art. On the flip side, it's a gathering skill, much like woodcutting or fishing. It's all about getting your knees dirty to amass puzzle pieces from yesteryear. On RS gold the other hand, it's a manufacturing skill like Smithing or Fletching, setting these artefacts back together to create real treasures. It has also five new areas including the depths below Al Kharid, the far reaches of Morytania, under the Wilderness and more. And it's swathes of loot, all excited to be discovered, including three new kinds of reward that will change how we all play (particularly higher level players)!

You'll find all of this and more in January 2020. Let us begin digging in... Archaeology, the Gathering Skill. Welcome to the humble mattock -- the pickaxe, if you will, of Archaeology. You will be able to earn these, and you're going to experience that simple joy of progressing throughout the mattocks as you level.

It is with the mattocks you will gain your initial Archaeology XP. Locate excavation hotspots at dig sites, uncover and maintain materials from lost ages, and get those pesky profits. How can it feel? There's a smidge of the Mining Rework, as there's no rivalry; you're all doing it in the same spaces; and occasionally excavation sites will end up extra-worthwhile, emphasized by a time sprite at a similar way to rockertunities.

While you're likely to be spending an adequate quantity of time gathering, the real pleasure -- and the biggest chunk of XP -- comes in the production side of this skill. Sometimes, as you excavate, you'll discover damaged artefacts. These artefacts are the real treasures of the past -- things of importance from lost ages. They'll be broken when you locate them, and it's your responsibility to animate them.

This is where the materials from the gathering element of cheap RuneScape gold this skill will really help. You will need certain materials for every artefact, and there is real pleasure to be had in gambling and swapping with other players to get the stuff you want. Repairing an artefact is truly the lion's share of the XP. You are going to get a giant chunk when they're done. But what can you do with these artefacts once you have them?
